Reports to: Digital Marketing Manager


Functions Supervised: None


Primary Functions: The Digital Marketing Specialist will support the marketing team by creating social media content, managing Alaska USA's online reputation, capturing community events, and implementing company initiatives.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Assist the Social Media Strategist with the day-to-day management of Alaska USA's social media properties.
  2. Responding and communicating with social media followers and member reviews professionally and in a timely manner, escalating member issues and complaints to the appropriate resources for resolution.
  3. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on social media performance.
  4. Attend local events to capture photo and video content for Alaska USA's social media channels.
  5. Develop new content to increase social media and member engagement.
  6. Ensure accurate, timely execution of projects with a high level of responsiveness to internal stakeholders.
  7. Collaborate as a member of working teams assigned to the creation and implementation of Alaska USA marketing campaigns.
  8. Maintain communication with representatives of business lines and front-line staff. Draft updates to procedures and scripted replies.
  9. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Alaska USA's products, markets, and compliance requirements.
  10. Initiate and participate in efforts to further Alaska USA's marketing and business objectives.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field.


Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: 2 years of marketing experience in a corporate or agency setting.


Experience/Skills: We're looking for a passionate, outgoing digital marketer to join the Alaska USA team to help manage our rapidly growing online community. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral communication and writing skills. Proven working experience in digital marketing with demonstrable experience in social media. Ability to work independently, remotely, and as part of the larger team. Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite tools. Knowledge of social media management and online reputation management programs. Up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices.


Tenure: Assignment to the Digital Marketing Specialist I category 12, Digital Marketing Specialist II category 11, or Digital Marketing Specialist III category 10 will be determined by the candidate's education and/or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's certifications and/or performance.
