Reports to: Agile Business Analyst Supervisor

Primary Functions: Business Analyst’s (BA) are members of the Feature Definition Team. The feature definition team is responsible for supporting analysis, feature definition and triage of new ideas in collaboration with business units and business product owners – AND - as an extension of the Feature Definition Team, BA’s will also support project implementation within Agile Project Teams. Business Analyst (BA) will participate in discovery analysis, feature definition/triage, testing, and implementation of new ideas and projects.
The BA analyzes the business process and user interface requirements for ideas and projects by working closely with the business stakeholders and project/product teams to ensure success.
Business Analyst is responsible for engaging with Product Owners and idea/project stakeholders and SME’s to define Epics, stories and features. BA’s will ensure appropriate upfront research and analysis has been conducted and groom feature backlog.
The BA clearly understands the needs related to the product by working closely with the Product Owner, SMEs, and other business partners, so they can clearly communicate the product vision and client's needs to the Agile project team and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: Bachelors degree required in a discipline such as computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience. Certifications in Agile, SCRUM, CCBA, and/or CBAP preferred.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Equivalent technical education and/or related work experience.
Experience/Skills: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing at a variety of levels to include business stakeholders, vendors, technical teams, customers, and management. At least a year of professional experience as a Business Analyst and/or System Analyst. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices and methodologies to include SCRUM and Kanban. Familiarity with software development lifecycle, operating systems, tools to test software applications/systems, development/modeling tools, organization and time management skills. Able to work as part of a large or small team.
Tenure: Assignment to the Business Analyst I category 09, Business Analyst II category 08, or Business Analyst III category 07 will be determined by the candidate’s education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate’s certifications and/or performance.
